I heard The Tyke calling for me after I put him to bed last night. I went in his room and he said, "Mom I wanna show you something." This immediately made me curious because he usually uses this phrase when we are at the store and he wants to take me to the toy section. Very subtle, this kid.
I said, "What is it?" He stands on his bed, lifts up the window blinds, and goes, "Look! It's not dark outside." As in, 'Dearest Mother, surely you realize that I cannot posssibly be going to bed when there is still daylight outside!
Y'all, I almost couldn't withstand the look of crushing disappointment on his face when I explained that it was still time for bed anyway. This will be just one of many grim realities that he will come to know in his life...like realizing that the ONE TIME the ice cream man deigns to show up in your neighborhood, you won't have any money.
At least he'll be able to tell his psychiatrist about his horrible mother who made him go to bed on time soshe could watch Sons of Anarchy he could be well rested and healthy. Who also didn't buy him ice cream.

I love this post Mel!
We call the ice cream truck the "music truck". Charlie doesn't even know what it's for except to drive around playing music.
Ha Ha! He's a smart kid, you can't pull one over on him :) I can almost perfectly imagine the cute animated way he probably showed you the window - what a love!
I love how creative you are. Brilliant!
